Humidification
General
Various production steps have special requirements for ambient air and fresh air supply. After mechanical cleaning, air washers are often used here to precisely adjust the air quality. Today, the problems that can occur with this, including microbe growth, lime deposits, and the corrosive effects of the water on the metal pipes, can easily be compensated for with modern additives.
With its broad range of products, Aqua-Concept provides targeted treatment of the water to prevent microbes, corrosion, and lime, and provides you with maximum operational security for your cooling systems by preventing buildup, as well as compliance with applicable hygiene regulations.
Problem and Solution
Air washers are used throughout the climate control industry to adapt and adjust room temperature, humidity, and air purity to meet the requirements of the material being processed, the production process (e.g. reduction of electrostatic buildup), or hygiene. A requirement for proper air conditioning is controlled water quality in the air washing systems. Water is the ideal washing material for process air in this part of the world, since it is available in large quantities and relatively inexpensive.
The use of water causes problems, however, that must be solved urgently:
- Microbe growth (bacteria, legionella, etc.)
- Salt deposits, especially calcification
- Corrosive effects of wash water on metal components
The introduction of organic materials and constant changes in temperature allow bacteria to reproduce rapidly. Outgassing of carbon dioxide, water evaporation, and/or increases in temperature cause lime to precipitate.
The results are hygienic problems and loss of technical functionality due to deposits (especially on eliminators and nozzles).
The use of air washers is also always individualized as to what water should be used in the air washers. Certain special properties in the water must be increased, and others reduced as well. An “off the shelf” water treatment is therefore not possible. In order to find the optimal water treatment for your application, we start with an analysis of the components you use. The first step is to carry out an assessment of your system, including taking a water sample and analyzing and evaluating it. Based on this data set, and the goals and requirements you wish to achieve, we develop an optimal system to improve your water quality.
This is followed by regular support by our service department, which provides thorough system monitoring, and thereby enhances the provision of the highest possible operational security, as well as implementation of your hygiene requirements under VDI Directive 6022.
Advantages for your company
- Implementation of hygiene requirements as per VDI 6022 by our qualified service personnel
- Reduction of cleaning costs
- Maximal operational security due to deposit prevention
- Cost reduction from water savings
- Environmentally friendly combinations of agents, at low concentrations, avoid hygienically questionable microbial loads in water and room air.
